RE, PHILOSOPHY AND ETHICS

The GCSE course will introduce pupils to the nature of belief in God and how Christian religious belief influences moral behaviour, attitude and lifestyle today.

The course tackles some major world issues such as: Deity, End of Life, Good and Evil, Science, Relationships, Medical Ethics, Equality and the Media.  It will focus on how our values and those of other people affect our world and the people in it.

The course is intended to help pupils to express ideas clearly, summarise material, learn and analyse information, share their own views and respect the opinions of other people regarding the key questions of life. Discussions, visitors, visits and independent investigations will hopefully provide a stimulating introduction to the world of Ethics and Philosophy
