Endon High

National Poetry Day Competition Winner

L Podmore in 7 Spode is the winner of the National Poetry Day Competition from last half term.
You can read her fantastic, environmentally themed poem here:

Trees Speak

I only wish to touch sweet water,

And venture through the sky,

And every dawn the moon is gone,

It only makes me cry,

I weep till the blue rises,

Above the birds black beaks,

The sonnet, it moves me,

Till the trees so quietly speak,

You should be enough,

To face the worlds foul sting,

As the winter fades away,

Sore the sky upon feathered wing,

Beauty lurks in heaven and sea,

The earth this magnificent place,

As I close my eyes to feel,

The winters warm embrace.

All runners up have received a WOW moment and all entries have been awarded with a housepoint.
